A Winter Symphony....

As the Sun rose into the clear blue sky...

 

the roof tops surrendered

 

their blankets of snow...

 

slowly but surely the icicles formed...

 

and as I stood very still...

 

I could hear the Winter symphony

 

as the droplets of melting ice...

 

bounced upon the garden's treasures...

 

nestled deep beneath the soil.

First Morning's Light...

 

 

Upon stepping into the gardens

I spy a small bench

covered with a pristine layer of snow...

 

 

The metal scroll work of the garden bench

holds just the tiniest bit of snow

upon it's top rail...

 



 

 

 

A nearby piece of metal scroll work is

oh so beautifully covered

 by a light blanket of

snow....

 

 

 

 

 

 

May you day be dusted with a blanket of serenity...

 



Christmas Wishes...

I gaze towards my garden stepping stones...
revealing the gift of a "White Christmas".

Simple stones...
leading nowhere and everywhere...
stones placed in apparent wild abandon...
but perhaps, just perhaps
these stones were placed
with a destination in mind...

A Photographic Study of the First 2011 Purple Iris!

These Purple Iris Bulbs were a gift years ago from a fellow gardener. I've been fortunate to have one or two blooms each year but this year there are buds coming up all over and the bulbs have multiplied ten fold! I am so fortunate!

Plumbago!

I love this beautiful plant! I've added two to my newest flower garden! I'm in Zone 7and I've heard other gardeners in this zone talk about how their Plumbago over-Wintered just fine! I've never had such luck. So before Fall I'll be trying to coax Mr. B into building a "SMALL" greenhouse! What do you think...will I be lucky?

Right now they are about 15 inches tall and the blooms have just begun to pop! These will bloom all summer long and up until the first frost! You can go here to learn more about this blue beauty!
