How Do I Say...THANK YOU!

I'm very new to blogging and I want to write a special "Thank You" to all of you!

About one year ago, I would tip toe into blogs, read what was written, look at posted photos of every description and I would wish I could walk shoulder to shoulder with all of you but my fear held me back. I was encouraged to try by dear Dawn, need I say more? When you are known by your first name only...you have left a thumbprint on humanity.

Each day I know something special is waiting for me in the land of blog. I can view art of every description, read about another person's life, look at photos of a special home interior/exterior design or be inspired by a multi-talented broad base of global humanity. The members in the land of blog relate, support and encourage one another in totally selfless random acts of kindness on a daily basis and that is the ultimate gift we share.

Often I feel as if we are participating in a new "Renaissance" that covers the gamut of artistic abilities. Was this brought about because of the economy, job layoffs, the need to supplement a family income, a way to cope with something or someone that is missing in our lives? For myself it is probably a little of everything.

During these crazy times in the outside world, I reflect on one of my favorite quotes often:

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way - in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only."

Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities
English novelist (1812 - 1870)

From my first post I was welcomed by some of the most wonderfully talented, funny, kind, intelligent people in the world! I am grateful. I'm still not quite walking shoulder to shoulder but I feel I'm making the climb just behind "you" learning something new every step of the way...and "you" are looking back at me with your collective hand outstretched to help me along during this journey.

I am grateful for the friends I've made and during this journey in the land of Blog, where it's members live in a world as it should be.

So I humbly and respectfully, Thank You!

  1. Well, if this does not make us cry, nothing will.
HOW sweet and thoughtful of you this is.
It's you dear lady, that needs to be thanked as well, for your intelligent and insightful writting and creative talents.
Some of us have been thru a LOT more than others in this life....not just because we are older ( i.e.~ myself) ...but because of experiences, good and bad that have occurred in that time period. And if it does not make us a better person, a more compassionate person, then we have some really fundamental chink in our Armour that needs to be corrected.
Sandy, you have been a constant on my blog now for about 3 months or more..and I have a deep sense you are a person one would be delighted to have as a friend...and I would be proud to be considered one of them.
Thank YOU...I know blogging has blessed my life so very much ....with people just like yourself.
    With love,
    Rose

  5. Sandy, I'm doing a little catching up on "you" and just found this post. Love it! I've been here a little bit, and felt the same way at first. It's fun, being a blogger. But, when it takes more time than you have, don't feel bad if you have to give yourself permission to back off. The way I see it, blogging is for "us". If we forget that, then our perspective is all messed up! ~Mindy
